About Me
I often draw inspiration from global perspectives and incorporate my unique cultural background into artworks.
For example, one of my portfolio projects blends American animation styles and themes rooted in Asian family relationships. Chinese culture is full of prolonged traditions, stories, and symbols that can be translated into compelling and visually appealing animations. It exemplifies how culture-specific subjects can be transmitted through the universal language of art, creating a rich and engaging storytelling experience. Besides, by drawing inspiration from everyday life, such as the abandoned furniture on street corners, I have developed characters with exaggerated features that reflect both American aesthetics and Chinese cultural influences. Last but not least, the story of Smell takes place in a Chinese university dormitory where hardly any parallels can be found in the U.S. which cherishes freedom and individuality.
By combining traditional Chinese culture with new media and technology, I aim to create more innovative and captivating artworks that resonate with the audience. I am particularly interested in exploring the intersection of traditional Chinese culture and digital media, as I believe there is immense potential for creating unique and impactful works of art.
